Case Study:
Zoo Montana
River Otter Habitat Installation

Challenge: Using valuable staff time & expensive chemicals to clean a 10,000 gallon river otter habitat tank every two weeks and discharging chemical laden water into adjacent creek.

Solution: Added 120 square foot custom FTE otter habitat which eliminated the need to completely drain the exhibit and use chemicals. The tank is now partially drained every 6 to 8 weeks saving a few thousand dollars in chemicals a year and zoo keepers’ precious time.

Testimonial: “Thankfully for us you and your amazing islands came along.
In a matter of a few months the water clarity did a complete turnaround. This is exciting to the staff as well as our visitors who, for the first time, could see the bottom of the pond. The islands offer so many benefits to the zoo I don’t know where to begin. My staff spends little to no maintenance time on the ponds where before they had to drain, clean with expensive chemicals and refill at least once a month. The largest benefit to our zoo is the conservation message we are able to share by no longer adding to the pollution problem of Canyon Creek.”
