The name BlueWing™ and the Blue Duck Symbol™ have several meanings.
First, is the obvious connection of the BlueWinged Teal (BWT), which is a small duck, that breeds in marshes and ponds throughout north and central North America. They migrate in flocks to Central and South America. Some birds winter on the Gulf Coast and coastal California. They mainly eat plants, but their diet may include mollusks and aquatic insects. We thought they look cool and they reside, breed or pass through many water bodies in North America. The BWT's range is also symbolic of the potential reach of BlueWing Environmental as well.

Second, is the connection to water, ducks live in the water, rely on water for food and sustenance. Water and more importantly clean water is vitally important to our environment and our quality of life. Currently 40% of all energy that is consumed is used to make clean water. Therefore, by employing innovative pollution reducing and natural based restorative technologies, we can make a significant impact on domestic energy consumption in America. The principals of BlueWing truly believe in improving water quality through innovative technologies and better natural resource management and are truly striving to leave the world a better place when we are gone.
Third, is a more alliterative (or play on words) connection. Because we are striving to create a new environmental stewardship ethic with all of our projects and initiatives, we are not opposed to creating a whole new "Blue", meaning earth (which is covered mostly by water), "wing" or group of people dedicated to environmental and water quality restoration.
